ADDITIONAL DETAILS/COMMENTS:

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Emergency Response Unit (ERU) received a spill phone notification of a sulfuric acid release due to a split electrolyte line at the Phelps Dodge Sierrita Mine, located in Green Valley, Arizona on September 6, 2005.  Approximately 8058 pounds of sulfuric acid was released into a containment pond.  The lost product was recovered and repairs are underway.  No further action is necessary.
