ADDITIONAL DETAILS/COMMENTS:

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Emergency Response Unit (ERU) received a spill phone notification of a sulfuric acid release due to equipment failure resulting in pregnant leach solution releasing into soil and nearby Baily Dam on September 24, 2005.  The release has been secured and the equipment repaired.  Approximately 1000 pounds of leaching solution was released onsite, recovery operations are underway.  No further action is necessary.  Note: the spill phone notification was made at approximately 1030 hours which contradicts the National Response Center's (NRC) incident time of 1400 hours LST.
